NUMERAL ISSUE Re-entries Half Cent One Cent / Two Cents / Three Cents / Five Cents
Having
looked at those re-entries I consider to be
THE
Major Re-entries
on each value, we will now take a look at some of the great
many more re-entries that exist on this Issue. The ONE CENT
and TWO CENTS values are particularly prolific with
re-entries, as the plates were extensively re-entered and
repaired. The ones that you see here are but a smattering of
what is to be found.

Return to Index Return to Listings Page HALF CENT BLACK My Right Pane of 100 of the Half Cent Numeral (Plate 1) contains 22 re-entries, including the well-known Major from position #18. All 22 of them are shown below. Rather than try to rank them in order of strength, I begin with the Major, but from then on, they are in order of plate position. You will notice that the re-entries can be grouped into several similar types, each varying in strength within the groups. A Left Pane has yet to be documented and any re-entries I can not attribute to Plate 1 will follow as Plate 2.
