U.S.A. Re-entries 1 (Double Transfers) 1847-1890 Scott #1 - #229
This is the first page of a new set of 20, whereI have taken all of the USA double transfers from my single, LONG page and divided them up into numerous sections based on Scott numbers. You can see the entire list on my Listings page, but only those with underlined titles indicating LINKS are active, as yet. This is going to take some time, so please be patient! Any suggestions or comments are welcomed.

Scott #2(C) 10¢ Black A Major Re-entry (Double Transfer) Plate Position 2R1 This major double transfer shows doubling in the upper and lower portions of virtually all of the lettering, as well as the lower left of the portrait oval. Obviously, the stamp is not tied to the cover, and indeed was sold to me as a “replica”! (I could never afford a genuine re-entry such as this.) I know almost nothing about USA ‘replicas’ or forgeries and I was amazed that re-entries / double transfers were forged as well as ‘normal’ stamps! I have compared this to ‘real’ examples of the TEN CENTS 2R1 using Google and find it to be an amazing likeness. Indeed, at first I thought I had a ‘real thing’! I anyone viewing this can provide me with any further information about this item, I would be extremely grateful!
