DECIMAL (First Cents) ISSUE Re-entries Twelve & One Half Cents Victoria
The photographs below were taken from a full proof sheet of 100 belonging to John Jamieson of Saskatoon Stamp Centre. A total of 59 re-entries were found, most of which are very minor. There were a number of nice ones, though, including three of major proportions. I will start off with those, and add more of the lesser ones as time permits. Note that I have now added several full stamp scans from a different proof sheet (also provided by John Jamieson of Saskatoon Stamp Centre) that changes some of the earlier information found below, particularly the major re-entry from position 61. I have therefore removed the earlier small scans to prevent confusion.

Scott #18 Twelve & One Half Cents Green The Major Re-entry Plate Position #94 Sharp doubling is found throughout the entire design of this major re-entry, including all lettering and the four corner numerals. The main distinguishing feature, when doing just a quick check, is the vertical line in the back of the 'E' of PENCE. The new full stamp scan seen to the right is also from John Jamieson of Saskatoon Stamp Centre, but from a different proof sheet from the smaller scans shown below it.

Scott #18 Twelve & One Half Cents Green A Major Re-entry Plate Position #61 This major re-entry is more subtle than the first, showing fainter doubling in many of the letters (note the triangle centres of the A's of CANADA and the ‘PA’ of PACKET). The main distinguishing features are the faint vertical line near the top of the right leg of the 'N' of PENCE, the ‘E’ of PENCE and the extension of the bottom tip of the '1' of the lower left '12' into the white margin between the frames, as well as the 12 1/2¢ iteslf. This scan is also from a different proof sheet than the one I showed here before, but number of the details of those were misleading, so I have removed them. Whitworth claims there were two different states of this printing, so this is likely the result of the differing states. See the note below in #3 for further information on that.
Note: I presently have 4 copies of pp61, obtained long after the photos of the first proof sheet I used here in the past. I have added 3 close-up scans of the UL, UR and LL corners to show clearer views of the main details, below the proof scan to the right. ***Note that the strong mark that was in the ‘N’ of PENCE is in none of my copies, s it must have been a mark on the proof sheet, and not part of the re-entry. This means the image shown in the Unitrade Catalogue is NOT correct, as it was taken from my earlier photos. Note, though, that there IS a mark of doubling in the top of the right leg of the ‘N’, but not nearly as bold as my previous image showed.***

Scott #18 Twelve & One Half Cents Green A Major Re-entry Plate Position #62 This is another major which is often confused with the first two shown above. Note the doubling in many of the letters, particularly CANADA and PENCE, as well as the lower left numeral. *** *** Notice that the new enlarged scan of the proof from position #62 seen to the right, does NOT show any of the details seen in the small close-ups below it. This is because this too is from the different proof sheet than the scans below. The only things similar are the two dots at mid-right. Therefore, I would conclude that this proof sheet must be the State 1 that Whitworth referred to, while the smaller scans from a different sheet must be State 2. I would also note that the other re-entries Whitworth refers to, pp51, st2; pp71, st1 or st2; pp72, st2; nor pp80, st2 are found on this proof sheet!
