*38 | Scott #15 Five Cents Re-entry Plate Position #38 State 8-9 R25 Here we see an interesting comparison between different states of the same plate position. Among the many markings visible, note the various dots of colour in ‘IVE CENT’ in the first two stamps. Also note the small vertical dash in the bottom of the ‘D’ which is key in the identification of this position. Note the angled line in the lower margin below the ‘V’ and another in the white border above the first ‘A’ of CANADA. This is an excellent example of how drastically the stamp changed from one state to the next, and why it can be so very tricky making an idenification. Both of the two stamps are Courtesy of Earl Noss.
