to Index Return to Listings There are numerous nice re-entries to be found on the War Tax stamps, but I have found them to be rather elusive. Here are a few I have found, along with some that have been submitted to me. Further reports and scans would be welcome. *1 Scott
# MR1 1¢ Green Major Re-entry Plate Position 16LR91 Courtesy of W.H. Pope This is a beautiful major re-entry showing in only a narrow band across the design, through the 'N' of CANADA and 'TA' of POSTAGE.

# MR1 1¢ Green Re-entry This one shows a slight doubling of the outer left side of the LNB. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ *3 Scott

# *6 Scott # (Scroll down) Scott # MR3 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 1 Plate Position This is a nice counterclockwise twist showing doubling of the lower left corner including the 2. There is also slight doubling found in 'AN' of CANADA and the back of the 'E' in POSTAGE. Slight doubling is also noticeable in much of TWO CENTS. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ (Scroll down) Scott # MR4 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 1 Plate Position 31UR34 This is one of those delightful strong shifts showing in 'TA' of POSTAGE, in the white oval above, and in the right margin. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ Scott #MR4 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 2 Plate Position Unknown This stamp shows sharp doubling in and above the ‘AN’ and in ‘AG.’ ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 3 Plate Position Unknown This one shows doubling of ‘AN’ and the outer frameline to the left, as well as below the ‘AG.’ ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 4 Plate Position Unknown This stamp looks similar to the one above, with doubling in the ‘AN,’ but here there is a line of doubling below the ‘N,’ but not of the outer left frameline. There is also no visible doubling on the right side of the design. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 5 Plate Position Unknown This one shows doubling in the ‘CA’ and of the oval below ‘AN,’ as well as heavy doubling in the ‘GE’ on the right side. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 6 Plate Position Unknown This one shows doubling in the ‘A.’ ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 7 Plate Position Unknown This one looks very similar to the one above, but the doubling in the right leg of the ‘A’ is heavier, there is a faint line in the ‘N’ and a line in the oval above. ^ From the RETrimble Collection ^ 2¢ + 1¢ Brown Major Re-entry 8 Plate Position Unknown This shows doubling above and in the bottoms of ‘TA’ of POSTAGE. This is very similar to some of the majors of other values of the Admirals.
