Re-entries on Scott #586a Booklet

You may have seen my mention of this re-entry on my ‘Modern Re-entries’ page. This is the very latest (as far as we know) re-entry on a Canadian stamp. I have just recently acquired a quantity of these booklet panes, some the full pane of 6 stamps, others with the two leftmost 1¢ stamps removed. I offer both types for immediate purchase below. Note that ALL booklets have been removed from their covers. All are MNH. The re-entry is found on the 6¢ red Pearson stamp in the upper right corner of the pane.

While it may be small - use of a 10X magnifier is recommended, although it can easily be seen with a 5X glass - it is a VERY significant re-entry in Canadian philately. This booklet was issued between 1974 and 1976. Leopold Beaudet, a recognized expert in the Caricature Issue, believes it probably occurred near the end of the run. To find another re-entry of this sharpness and clarity, you would have to go all the way back at least 40 years to the 50¢ Parliament Buildings, Victoria, BC, Scott #226 from 1935. There has been the odd slight doubling found on some framelines since then, but nothing that approaches the delightful, clear doubling of this ‘modern’ re-entry.
